How long is an initial consultation? The initial consultation is scheduled for one hour in order to fully assess your needs and to determine ongoing therapy requirements. Do I need a referral from my GP? No, you do not need a referral from a GP to attend a consultation with Diane Maxwell. However, if your GP feels that you are eligible, you may be able to access an Enhanced Primary Care Plan or a Chronic Disease Management Plan which will provide a rebate towards 5 sessions in a calendar year. Private fees are payable up front, prior to claiming the Medicare funded rebate. Can I claim for treatments through my health fund? Diane is a registered practitioner and rebates may be payable, depending on your health fund provider and level of cover. Attendance at workshops can be claimed under a group physiotherapy item. Do you have the HICAPS system? Yes, at SouthPoint Health the HICAPS system is in place enabling you to claim your health fund rebate at the time of the consultation.
